Virtual visits for NICU families in Rotunda

The Rotunda Hospital put out a call to source four iPads to put in place a ‘virtual visiting’ system for our NICU families with the help of vCreate. This system helps parents of babies in the NICU safely check in with their baby while they’re in the unit.

They were absolutely blown away by the outpouring support when they received eight iPads in total, four from Compu b, Apple Premium Reseller and four decommissioned iPads from Colaiste Clavin in Trim Co. Meath. In addition, Rotunda were sent a Fire 7 Tablet with two way camera from a GoFundMe appeal set up to assist ICUs around the country. They are now up and running and have gotten fantastic feedback from parents!

The Rotunda Hospital are now able to assist NICUs in Cavan and Drogheda to help them to get a similar initiative off the ground.
