Siobhan was appointed as Clinical Director for Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) for the RCSI Hospital Group in 2015. Siobhan and the RCSI Hospital Group QPS Directorate Team, have led out on the establishment of an RCSI Hospital Group framework for Quality, Risk Management and Patient Safety.

A Graduate and Fellow of RCSI, Professor Kelly previously held the post of Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences from 2006 to 2009.

Prior to his appointment as Chief Executive/Registrar, Cathal was a Consultant General and Vascular Surgeon, with a special interest in endovascular surgery, in Beaumont Hospital.

He combined this role with the chairmanship of the surgical division and an academic position in RCSI as Vice Dean for curriculum change. In addition to completing his basic and higher surgical training in Dublin, Professor Kelly pursued a Research Fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, USA.

In 2005, Professor Kelly was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education at Queen’s University Belfast.  In 2009 he was conferred with a Master of Business Administration Degree by Institutio de Empressa of Madrid. In 2015, he undertook the Senior Leadership Programme at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

In 2016, Professor Kelly was awarded Chartered Director status, having completed the IoD Chartered Director course.

Ian has held positions in the UK: Director of Contracts and Business Administration, Regional Surgical Specialties Manager and in Saudi Arabia: Assistant Hospital Manager and Director of Operations.

Ian is also the Chairperson of the Charity Ruhama.

Ian was previously Adjunct Assistant Professor in Health Policy and Management at Trinity College. Ian is an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences.

• Safetynet (2007) which provides GP services to over 6000 marginalized patients annually throughout Ireland. He initiated specialised services in several food halls/drop-ins/hostels; GP services for Roma community in two medical centres; a Mobile Health Unit for rough sleepers; a Mobile Health Screening Unit; He was Medical Director from 2007-2017.
• GMQ, a primary care programme for homeless people which also specialises in addiction services (including methadone treatment and alcohol and benzodiazepine detoxes.
• Partnership for Health Equity, a research, education, policy and service delivery collaboration.
• GPCareforAll, a new social enterprise that creates new GP practices in areas of deprivation.
• North Dublin City GP Training programme, the first programme internationally that trains GPs to work in communities affected by deprivation or marginalization.
• He set up the GP service for the McVerry Stabilization Centre in Barrymore House.

He was Dublin HSE Covid Lead for the Homeless Population between 2020 and 2022. He completed a Doctorate in ethnographic research into the health service usage behaviours of homeless people. He was a co-founding member of Northdoc. He received the Fiona Bradley Award; the Time & Tide Award for his work with migrants; the Healthcare Professional of the Year Award 2015 and was awarded an Honorary membership of the RCPI the Doolin Award 2019; and Gertrude Ronan Award 2019. He was awarded the 5 Star Doctor Award from Wonca Europe in 2020.  He participated in 2016 Paralympics in sailing.

Prior to this, Petrina performed the role of Director of Nursing, setting up and operationalising a new residential care facility. Between 1999 and 2018 Petrina worked in Beaumont Hospital where she undertook several nursing roles, staff nurse, practice support nurse, education coordinator, research, Clinical Nurse Manager and progressing to senior management level as Directorate Nurse Manager for the National Kidney Transplant and Nephrology Service, and then to Deputy Director of Nursing.

Petrina has gained national and international healthcare clinical experience having worked in St Thomas Hospital (London) Royal Infirmary Hospital (Edinburgh), and several hospital and community settings in Australia.

To complement clinical experience Petrina has engaged in continuous professional development by undertaking several qualifications throughout her career. Following completion of her primary nursing degree, she undertook a degree in Nephrology Dialysis and Transplantation, advanced diploma in personal and executive coaching, MSc in organisational change and leadership, advanced diploma in medical law and recently successfully completed a faculty of Nursing and Midwifery fellowship by examination RCSI in 2022. Petrina was successful in securing a scholarship through the National Clinical Leadership Centre for Nursing & Midwifery to undertake the Global Florence Nightingale Foundation program in 2023/2024 and is in the process of publishing her area of focus (Enhancing sustainable quality outcomes in residential care facilities using an integrated Care framework)

Petrina was appointed as an Honorary Teaching Associate of the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery RCSI in 2020, during this time she also took up the position of a Co-opted Board Member on the RCSI Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery.

Angela has 30 years of wide-ranging experience in senior management in the health sector, with extensive experience in driving change and quality improvements. In addition to the development and implementation of hospital policy in the Department of Health, she led major national change processes in the HSE in a range of areas, such as hospital emergency services, the National Care Experience Programme and the National Transplant Service.

Angela previously served as Regional Director for Performance and Integration for Dublin North East where she was accountable for all aspects of service delivery across all hospital and community services in the region. She was also responsible for day-to-day operations in St James’ Hospital for over four years, delivering results across the key domains of safety, access and financial management.

Throughout her career, Angela has advised Government Ministers and Cabinet directly on strategy, policy and patient safety issues including the implementation of recommendations from the HIQA investigation into the Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise, the HSE response to the Independent Audit of Cervical Check, and the use and oversight of private hospitals to support access to care particularly during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In her early career in health, she led on national responses to patient quality and safety issues including the Development of National Standards for Post Mortem and Organ Retention and the National Response to the Survivors of Symphysiotomy. She has also represented the healthcare delivery system on major national strategic planning and policy exercises.

She is passionate about supporting continuous improvement in patient care through effective engagement with key stakeholders. Angela holds a Masters Degree in Health Economics and has lectured on comparative health policy in postgraduate healthcare programmes.

With a degree in Sports & Fitness and a Masters in Health Promotion coupled with two transplants and over 1,800 dialysis sessions, you begin to understand the impact his presentations have on attendees.

He established RCSI Dubai in 2007 and led it until 2019. A psychologist and pharmacologist, he also has postgraduate qualifications in theology and organisational leadership. He lectures extensively in Ireland and internationally and has published widely in the scientific literature and in the media. He has extensive experience as a consultant psychologist for a range of national and international public and private sector organisations in the military, aviation, financial services, education, government and healthcare sectors.

Professor Broe’s surgical training in Ireland included a Basic Surgical Rotation in Dublin and the National Higher Surgical Training Programme. He also spent time at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in America and at Guy’s Hospital London. He was appointed Consultant Surgeon at the Richmond Hospital in 1987 which later that year transferred to Beaumont Hospital.

Following his retirement from clinical practice in 2017, he served as Clinical Director of the RCSI Hospital’s Group and is a member of the Executive Management Team. He is also a Board Member of the Bons Secour Hospital System.

In addition to his medical degree (MB BCh BAO), Professor Kelly holds masters degrees in epidemiology (MSc), healthcare management (MA), Buddhist studies (MA), and mindfulness-based interventions (MSc); doctorates in medicine (MD), history (PhD), governance (DGov), and law (PhD); and a higher doctorate in history (DLitt).

Professor Kelly has authored and co-authored over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals, over 700 non-peer-reviewed publications, 25 book chapters and book contributions, and 20 books (including 13 as sole author).

His recent books include ‘Resilience: Lessons from Sir William Wilde on Life After Covid’ (2023). He is currently working, with Dr Caragh Behan, on the ‘Handbook of Compassion in Healthcare’ which is due to be published by Cambridge University Press in 2025.

Professor Kelly is a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, Royal College of Physicians of Ireland, and Trinity College Dublin. In 2018, he became Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Law and Psychiatry and, in 2020, was elected as Dun’s Librarian at the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland.

Susan qualified as a Nurse and a Midwife and has significant experience in Healthcare, both in Ireland and internationally. She is a graduate of DCU and RCSI with a Masters in Organisational Change and Leadership.
