The RCSI Hospital Group is committed to making rcsihospitals.ie accessible, in accordance with European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020.

Non-accessible content
- PDFs: Some documents are published as PDFs – which are less accessible than HTML pages for people using assistive technologies.Videos
- Videos: For example Covid-19 Staff Support videos and Events videos, may not contain captions or other accessibility features.
- SVG Images: While SVG images, in same cases may contain live text, they are not fully readable by screen reader software.
How we test the rcsihospitals.ie site
We use the WCAG level AA guidelines to test how accessible rcsihospitals.ie is. We used the Website Accessibility Conformance Evaluation Methodology (WCAG-EM) approach to assess the site. What we’re doing to improve accessibility
We will work with colleagues in the RCSI Hospital Group and partners to assist in publishing HTML pages instead of less accessible formats like PDF, when it is possible.
We are going to make photo-descriptions mandatory on rcsihospitals.ie and carry out regular spot-checks on photos across all website pages on a quarterly basis.
