Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda was chosen as the RCSI Hospital Group site to host the Music in Hospitals Events through the months of October and November 2023.

The events were sponsored by Healthy Ireland, Creative Ireland and the Arts Council. The music was provided by the talented teachers of Toccata House Music School, Drogheda.

Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda was chosen as the RCSI HG site to host the Music in Hospitals events. A variety of musical performances was organised from classical musical performances, operatic singing to more modern musical arrangements.

Patients, their families and staff took time from their busy schedules to stop and appreciate the music.

One staff member of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda said “that was so beautiful it really gave me an opportunity to sit and reflect”. A patient of the Hospital said “I was worried about my test results I feel much calmer now after listening to that beautiful music”. The hospital TV channel aired the live music for those patients who remained on the wards.
