RCSI Hospital Group Inaugural Deteriorating Patient Symposium

Be Wise and Recognise – Don’t Hesitate to Escalate

RCSI Hospital Group were delighted to host its Inaugural Deteriorating Patient Symposium on November 16th 2023. The running theme throughout the symposium was ‘Be Wise and Recognise – Don’t Hesitate to Escalate’. The symposium was well attended, with over 120 people.

 

The symposium provided a platform to share knowledge, innovation and expertise on recognising, responding and managing patients who are clinically deteriorating in our acute hospitals. The one-day event included over 20 presentations and a panel discussion.

Ms. Petrina Donnelly, Chief Director of Nursing & Midwifery, RCSI Hospital Group said “It was a fantastic event showcasing of a wide range of presenters which provided an ideal opportunity to come together as a group of experts and practitioners to address the many challenging aspects for staff around patients who deteriorate. The Q&A session and panel discussions proved most valuable in demonstrating much of the good work that is being done to overcome some of these challenges in our hospitals.”
